Obituary of Kenneth Karen

Kenneth (Kuznetzoff) Karen, 101, of Renaissance in Manchester,

 passed away on July 15, 2024. 

Mr. Karen was born in Brooklyn, NY, on March 6, 1923, and attended Boys High School. In 1941, he joined the US Army Air Corp, where he was a flight engineer gunner on a B26 Martin Marauder medium bomber named Miss Mary. Ken flew 73 missions in the European Theatre during WWII, including two on D-Day. For his heroism, Ken was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, as well as many other combat medals. After separation from the USAF in 1945, Ken moved to Jackson, NJ, where he raised his family and in the 1950's opened Pine Acres Day Camp. A career in construction and real estate soon followed. 

Ken's life in both NJ and Boca Raton FL was filled with joy and an abundance of friends where golfing  was his passion. 

He was fortunate to have loved and been loved by two wonderful women, Sophia Weissman Karen, who passed away in 1984. He is survived by his second wife of 37 years, Joan Brooks Karen.

He is also survived by his three children Robert Karen (Barbara Jo), Harvey Karen (Lisa), Dr. Denise Zeidler (Steven). Grand children Jodie Karen Hamburg ( Michael), Jonathan Karen (Dr. Julie), Jesse Karen (Bonnie), Daniel Karen, Sari Kurz (Keith), Melissa Zeidler (Aron). Great Grandchildren, Dr. David and Michael Sykes, Alex, Andrew and Kate Karen, Jaxson and Camden Karen. Corrine and Olivia Kurz. 

His blended family is Alan Brooks( Christina), Edward Hans, Terry Brooks ( Suzanne), and Neil Brooks ( Hope). Grandchildren: Justin (Molly), Rachel, Alex Brooks. Kevin(Jamie), Jason( Heather), Hans, Ashley Du Ren (Daniel), Caitlyn, Niko, and Alyssa Brooks.  Courtney Halasz(Dylan), Matthew Brooks (Danielle). Great Grandchildren: Kevin Michael and Madison Hans, Hunter Du Ren, Arizona, and Theo Brooks.
