Obituary of Sophie Sherman

Sophie Nagler Sherman, age 104, died on Friday, 6/17/16. She was an outstanding teacher, school supervisor, family historian, mother, grandmother, wife and friend. From a poor background, but with a sharp mind, she became an inspirational educator and mentor who taught foreign languages and influenced generations of students and teachers. She also supported the arts and had a deep dedication to religion and learning. Predeceased by her husband, Paul, survivors include daughter Ruth (Victor Ress) and granddaughter Micaela, son Samuel (Linda) and granddaughter Stephanie and numerous relatives and friends who loved her dearly. Private funeral services were held on Tuesday, 6/21. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood, NJ.
