Obituary of Charles Schoenfeld

Charles Schoenfeld, 85, of Lakewood died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation, Brick. He was born in Bronx, NY and lived in Lakewood since 1949. Charles was a chef and worked for many years at his family’s business, the New Irvington Hotel, Lakewood. He was a past member of Congregation Sons of Israel, Lakewood and an active member of the Masons and Shriners. Charles enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family. Predeceased by his father, Murray Schoenfeld; mother, Matilda Coller; and son, Alex (2013); he is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; son, Bruce of Michigan; daughter, Jeni Statkus and her husband, Bronius of Lakewood; daughter, Randi Polinski and her husband, Steven of East Brunswick; daughter-in-law, Evelyn Schoenfeld of Jackson; brother, William of Lakewood; and grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Gabriela. Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Monday, April 25, 2016 at Congregation Sons of Israel Holocaust Memorial Chapel, 613 Ramsey Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Interment will follow at Mount Sinai Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ.
