Obituary of Selma R. Silverman

Selma Silverman, 89, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on January 24th, 2024, surrounded by her family. Selma was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was married to her devoted husband, Louis, who predeceased her at the end of 2023. For 69 years, they shared a lifetime of love, laughs, and adventures.

Selma was a loving mother to her two daughters, Stacey and Joy, and Stacey’s husband, Brian. As matriarch of the family, she took great pride in her role as Mom-mom to her grandchildren: Steven and his wife, Kristen; Sydney and her fiancé, Josh; and Adam and his wife, Luisa. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Violet and Gabrielle.

A funeral service to honor and remember Selma will be held at the Toms River Jewish Community Cemetery (1130 West Whitty Road, Toms River, NJ) on Friday, January 26th, 2024 at 2:00pm. Following the service, a meal of condolences will be held at the Silverman home.

Family and friends will deeply miss Selma’s quick wit, fierce determination, and dedication to her loved ones. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hadassah, as she was a lifelong member and supporter of the organization.
