Obituary of Herbert Louis Silverman

Lou Silverman, 92, of Toms River, NJ passed away peacefully on December 26th, 2023, surrounded by his family. Lou was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. He was married to his devoted wife, Selma, for 69 years and together they shared a lifetime of love, laughs, and adventures.

Lou was a loving father to his two daughters, Stacey and Joy, and Stacey’s husband, Brian. He took great pride in his role as Pop-Pop to his grandchildren: Steven and his wife, Kristen; Sydney and her fiancé, Josh, and Adam and his wife, Luisa. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Violet and Gabrielle. Lou was predeceased by his sister, Florence, whose memory he held dear.

A funeral service to honor and remember Lou will be held at the Toms River Jewish Community Cemetery (1130 West Whitty Road, Toms River, NJ) on Friday, December 29th, 2023, at 12:00pm. A meal of condolences will be held at the Silverman home after the service.

Family and friends will deeply miss Lou’s easy-going personality, fun-loving nature, and generous spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Hackensack Meridian Hospice, as Lou and his family deeply appreciated their compassionate care during his final days.
