Obituary of Phillip W. Correll
Phillip Warren Correll passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at the age of 78. Phillip died peacefully at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes, Camden NJ.
Phillip, known to family and friends as “Phil,” was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on October 18, 1941 to father Harry and Frances Correll. Born and raised in Arkansas, Phil went on to Graduate from Trinity College in 1963. In 1964 he joined the Army, achieving the rank of Captain during his tour in Vietnam. While attending his best friend’s wedding, he met his wife Sharon Lichtenfeld Correll. They were married on June 29, 1969. Phil and Sharon welcomed their first child, Gregory Phillip, in August of 1970. After moving to Brick, NJ in 1973 they welcomed two daughters; Alicia Correll (Harding) and Laura Correll (King). His Jewish community was a priority to him and he was a member and leader at Temple Beth Or in Brick for the next 47 years.
Family was most most important to Phil, so it was no surprise that he followed his children spending the last few years of his life close to them all in Delaware. He is survived by his three children Gregory Correll, Alicia Correll Harding and Laura Correll King, and nine grandchildren who fondly remember him as “Doo.” He will be greatly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation, in his honor, to Temple Beth Or, Brick NJ. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Belkoff-Goldstein Funeral Chapel, Lakewood, NJ.
