Obituary of David Yeger
David H. Yeger, 88, beloved, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on May 8, 2017.
Born in Rona de Sus , Romania he was a child survivor of The Holocaust, surviving several concentration camps including Auschwitz. He was a witness to man’s inhumanity to man. He later immigrated to the United States, settling in Belmar New Jersey where he met his future wife Nancy Kanczuker. After starting a family, they moved to the Hightstown area where he owned a kosher butcher shop, and eventually became a successful home developer. He then moved to Lakewood, NJ where he resided for over 50 years. He and Nancy travelled frequently; they loved to dance, socialize and be with family. Despite his experiences as a child, David was optimistic, wanted the best for everybody, and wanted everyone to be happy. David is predeceased by his wife of 65 years Nancy, also by his parents Shmuel and Freda; siblings; Feiga, Yerma, Sura Nessa, Zalel, Tzipra and Velvel. David is survived by children; Steve (Adeenah), Fern Yeger Uresse, Lenn (Jill); Grandchildren; Meira (Rob), Ronit (Kevin), Shiri (Mike), Jaime (Simon), Jeremy, Zachary, Alyssa and Sophie. Greatgrandchildren; Brianna, Meredith, Bryce, Flynn and Noah. Also surviving are brother in law Michael and Edis Kanczuker, nephew Barry (Samantha), great nieces Mia and Ella; along with many living and devoted friends and family.
