My deepest condolences, I knew your husband and farther when I worked in KMC through my mother Joan Krell who worked in the OR, ER and employee health services in KMC. I will always remember him as one of the few doctors who would say hi and always have a smile for you. He will be missed by many.

How privileged we feel to have known and been part of Hal's life. Hal ministered to others not only in his professional life but in his daily life. His many interests, including athletics, contributed to his joy and to the joy of others. He was a humble man of principles who loved his wife and family - oh so much!

30 years ago Dr. Wechsler who I would later call Hal, accepted me with open arms as a new physician at Kimball Medical Center. He informed me we both shared a legacy of training at NYU and would reminisce on his years of grueling training. The endless surreal stories gave us both many a laugh. I had the opportunity to spend considerable time with him in the doctors lounge in the operating room. He was always professional, never off the cuff and a very respectful man. It was evident he was not only quite talented but also a perfectionist who was caring and dedicated to his patients. In short he was the kind of surgeon anyone would hope for.
Hal unselfishly gave of his time, his considerable expertise and his well reasoned philosophy to help me become a better physician. It was evident from the first time that we met that he was no ordinary man. Hal was in his own quiet way, a giant. I like many others were blessed to have known him. For certain in the heavens above, he will be rewarded for all his good deeds. I will miss his calm reassuring demeanor.

I really liked Hal.I enjoyed playing tennis with him on many sundays.My memory was that he always thought everyone was too quick to serve,and his hand would go up,meaning,let me get ready,before every serve!!!

Dr. Wechsler (Doc) was one of the kindest, generous and humble people I have ever had the pleasure to have known. Doc took me to see my first N.F.L. and NBA games along with his sons Lee, Greg and other friends of ours. Those are days that I'll never forget.
Doc was also quick to throw on a pair of shorts and a headband and mix it up with us, playing basketball in his driveway, often throwing an elbow or two as we fought for postion.
He was a good man and will be missed.
My condolences to one of my best friends in life Lee and also to Mrs. Wechsler, Greg and Dale.
